With sales of the North Italian fizz taking off at the expense of Champagne, the generic body for Prosecco di Conegliano-Valdobbiadene is launching its first-ever UK PR campaign.

The campaign, which is pitched at on- and off-trade buyers and the trade and consumer press, will be handled by London-based Eviva Communications.

Among the highlights of this year’s activity will be a generic tasting featuring 40 producers from the DOC and a pair of seminars hosted by Tim Atkin MW, at London’s Institute of Directors in October.

“With more and more consumers discovering Prosecco DOC di Conegliano-Valdobbiadene, we want to give our utmost support to the importers, retailers and hospitality industry to maxiumise the potential of this exciting growth,” said Giancarlo Vettorello, director of the Prosecco DOC di Conegliano-Valdobbiadene Consortium.
