Californian wine firm Joel Gott Wines has formed a joint venture with Sutter Home producer Trinchero Family Estates to handle the global sales and distribution of its wines.

The move is intended to gain Gott better distribution in domestic and international markets.

Joel Gott said: "This is a chance for us to focus even more than we have previously on the quality and style of our wines.

"We are proud to have the Trinchero team behind us. Their knowledge and support will allow us to explore new opportunities."

Bob Torkelson, president and chief operating officer of Trinchero Family Estates, added: "We are thrilled and honoured to be selected by Joel and his family to help bring their wine to more consumers throughout America and internationally.

"Joel and his wife Sarah have created something special and we look forward to being a part of their success."

The Gott wines will join a Trinchero portfolio that includes Sutter Home, Napa Cellars and Terra d'Oro, plus 20 other brands.

Wines from both the Napa Cellars and Sutter Home ranges are sold through PLB in the UK.
