Gerry Calabrese of the Hoxton Pony is among the new members of Courvoisier's elite online professional network site The Future 500.

The co-owner of the North London bar is joined by Hayley Sudbury and Angella Newell, from the contemporary sampling club The Tasting Sessions, and Joe McCanta of the PurSip drinks consultancy.

The Future 500 is an exclusive online network designed to help "successful, aspirational" professionals to share ideas and build contacts.

Other drinks industry members include Nick Strangeway of the Underdog Group, Ian Burrell from the Embassy of Rum and Ben Reed of IP Bartenders.

Janice McIntosh, UK marketing manager at Maxxium UK, said: "This innovative marketing campaign ensures that Courvoisier is associated with the UK's most talented professionals and encourages these influential people to talk about Courvoisier among their peer group."

Members can pitch for a grant from a "future bank" and use the brand's London exhibition space, known as the Future Gallery, to host events.

The Future 500 is to be publicised through full-page ads in The Observer and Guardian supplements and a microsite on the Guardian's website.
