Oliver teams up with Naked Wine

Celebrity chef Jamie Oliver has teamed up online with UK wine retailer Naked Wines to feature a dedicated wine section on his website.

"It's a brilliant bit of news JamieOliver.com is teaming up with a fantastic company called Naked Wines," said Oliver.

"The great thing is, they have the same passion for food and wine as we do, and we're working with really small, unsung wine producers from around the world, giving the smaller vineyards the chance to share their beautiful wines with the rest of us."

Oliver's official website now has a dedicated wine section which matches recipes to wines, offers general wine tips and promotes seasonal cases selected by the chef.

Rown Gormley founder of Naked Wines said: "Jamie's approach to food inspired us to launch Naked Wines, and he was the chef we wanted to work with above all others.

"The wine industry is often shrouded in emperor's clothes, but Jamie's shown that you can be casual and professional at the same time."

I agree with "JackWine"... also they seem to be working with the winemaker from Concha y Toro... a large producer with distribution in dozens of countries and one of the highest volume chile producers in the industry... Admittedly 99% of the population won't have a clue, so more power to them but I think they (Jamie Oliver and Naked Wines could do better to disguise this inconvenient truth...

I do find that Naked Wines saying "giving the smaller vineyards the chance" , rather hypocritical when they are working with companies like Ramon Bilbao from the Rioja which was owned by multinational Maxxium and now owned by the Spanish drinks giant Diego Zamora. Also Ramon Bilbao is no way a small winery. The question is has Jamie done his homework? And will Jamie burn his fingers and this one?
