Chilean winemaker Viña Ventisquero has launched its first premium Pinot Noir, under the brand name Herú.

The wine, from Casablanca, will sit alongside the icon Pangea and Vértice wines and is represented in the UK by PLB.

The 100% Pinot Noir grapes are hand-harvested from a 1ha parcel of vines. The must undergoes a low-temperature maceration before the wine is aged in French oak for 14 months.

The 2007 vintage wine is aimed at the independent specialist and on-trade sectors, and has an rrp of £19.99.
