Morrisons is cutting the cost of some Champagnes to below half price, including Bollinger at £17.95.

The Christmas promotion, which starts on November 23 and continues while stocks last, is in response to sales of fizz at the retailer growing by 21.1% in the past three months.

Other deals will include Moet & Chandon at £14.39, Lanson Black Label at  £13.45 and Nicolas Feuillatte at £12.99.

A spokeswoman for the chain said: "Morrisons believe they are leading the market with this fantastic deal, using prices that were last seen over 15 years ago! Customers can now enjoy exceptional value on this quality fizz, usually only affordable as a rare treat."

Sparkling wine will also be on offer, including Hardys Crest Sparkling Brut at £4.99, Monistrol Cava Brut at £4.99, Prosecco Spumati Rosato at £4.95 and Extra Codorniu Cava for £4.99.

Stocks are limited to three bottles per customer.
