Morrisons is making further cuts to the prices of leading Champagne brands.

The discounts include Lanson Rosé Brut, was £32.99 now £22.99, Veuve Cliquot, was £31.91, now £24.9, Mumm, was £26.99 now £19.99 and Moët Vintage Chandon, was £39.40, now £34.40.

The supermarket has led festive deals on fizz, which for the first time in years have seen the prices of grande marque Champagnes crashing to as low as £17.95 for Bollinger.

Other retailers including Waitrose, Tesco, Sainsbury's and The Co-op have responded by flooding the market with millions of bottles of discounted Champagne.

Most Morrisons shelves have been cleared of the special offer fizz by midday every day, and a spokeswoman admitted the Bollinger, Moet, Lanson and Nicolas Feuillatte had already sold out.
