Hallgarten Druitt has been appointed by Maule-based winery VIA Wines to distribute its Oveja Negra brand.

Moving from Bibendum, Hallgarten Druitt will take over responsibility for handling on and off-trade sales within the UK with immediate effect.

Oveja Negra means "black sheep", and the range of wines is designed to showcase an ethos of innovation and difference which includes unusual blends such as Sauvignon Blanc with Carmenère.

The packaging for the Reserva, Single Vineyard, and Lost Barrel ranges has also undergone an extensive overhaul by Amphora Design.

Jim Wilson, agency and marketing director for Hallgarten Druitt said: "2009 has shown that Chile can continue to perform well in tough trading conditions. The new additions add to an already sound Latin portfolio and will give us a South American range to rival the best. We are pleased to be on board with VIA as we strengthen our South American proposition."
