Montana is embarking on its first TV advertising campaign in the UK.

The Pernod Ricard-owned New Zealand wine will appear on screens from April in slots around programmes including ITV's Coronation Street and Channel 4's Grand Designs.

There will be two bursts, the first between April 5 and 30, and a second later in the year. The campaign will reach a total of 5.5 million ABC1 35-54 year old adults, according to the brand owner.

The campaign "aims to engage consumers by delivering Montana's key credentials as a premium, original and high quality New Zealand wine brand," it added.

The campaign will be supported by in-store initiatives, retailer car park poster activity and new packaging across Montana's Classic and Reserve ranges, which is on-shelf now.

Mathew Bird, marketing controller for Montana, said: "We expect that the TV advertising will make a million new consumers aware of Montana."
