David Peek is to join the Sainsbury's wine buying team from June.

Peek will take buying responsiblities for Champagne, sparkling wine, Italy, Spain and Portugal.

A former Majestic store manager, Peek was previously wine buyer at Tesco and commercial controller for Waverly TBS.

Justin James, category manager for Sainsbury's beers, wines and spirits said: "I'm really looking forward to David joining the team and think we've found the perfect candidate to help us deliver our wine vision for the future."
