Northern Lights inspire Aurora expression for Dan Aykroyd's Crystal Head vodka

Published:  12 August, 2015

Dan Aykroyd's Crystal Head vodka will launch a new expression in the UK in October.

Crystal Head Aurora will come in an iridescent version of the brand's familiar skull bottle, and is designed to look like the Northern Lights. No two bottles will be identical.

The vodka - which was launched in Australia earlier this month - uses a different grain from the original to produce a drier, bolder and spicier flavour.

Distributor Instil Drinks - a division of Bibendum PLB - said limited production meant that stockists would be "extremely select" with the majority expected to be pre-sold.

Aurora has an rrp of £79.99, around double the typical retail price for the main brand.

Aykroyd - whose film credits include the Blues Brothers, Ghostbusters and Driving Miss Daisy - founded Crystal Head in 2008 and it is now sold in 42 countries. It was launched in the UK in 2011.
