Phone app suggests perfect tonic and garnish for 1,300 gins

Published:  14 August, 2015

A phone app has been created to help bartenders and consumers make the perfect gin and tonic.

Ginventory is the brainchild of Belgian gin enthusiast Bjorn Blockx and contains perfect serves for 1,300 gins.

Users are invited to enter a brand of gin to find out the perfect tonic - from 100 listed on the app - and garnish to go with it.

"Gin is in" said Blockx. "I'm a gin enthusiast myself, and for years I've been searching for the best gin and tonic recipes.

"All that data has now been merged into one app, so everyone can enjoy the perfect G&T."

Perfect serve recipes were sourced from distillers, bars and shops.

Denis Evlard, co-founder of Reed, the design studio that developed the app, said a second version was already in development.

"We have big plans", he said. "We'll be adding user profiles, so you can save, rate and share your favorite gins and serves.

"You'll be able to find gin bars on a map and instantly order gins online, and we want to keep on surprising our users with nice features."

Ginventory is available on the iTunes app store and an Android version will be launched soon.
