The Epicurean launches in London this weekend

Published:  24 October, 2016

The team behind the London Wine Fair is gearing up to launch its first consumer event.

The Epicurean, billed as London's first dedicated artisan drinks event, comes to The Truman Brewery this Friday, 28 and Saturday, 29 October.

Around 127 exhibitors spanning wine, beer and spirits are due to attend - around 30 more than originally planned.

The event is opening up to the trade first from 11.30am-5pm on Friday, followed by three consumers slots on Friday evening, Saturday day and Saturday evening.

Consumers tickets cost £25, which will give them access to unlimited food and drink samples.

Exhibitors include: Corney & Barrow, Red Squirrel, The Antipodean Sommelier, Alpine Wines, East London Liquor Company, The Juniper Company, Harviestoun Brewery; Wild Card Brewery; and premium mixer company INDI&CO launching in the UK this month.

As well as food from The Rib Man, Rupert's Street and Street-Eats, there will also be a series of drink-related talks, including sessions from the three event ambassadors; Sophie Atherton, Alice Lascelles, and Joe Wadsack.

They will be talking about beer, spirits and wine, respectively.

"The Epicurean has been unchartered territory for us, with the team's experience lying largely with trade-facing shows, until now. We have been delighted by the response from exhibitors, who have embraced the concept and feel, like we do, that there is a real appetite for an artisan show that encompasses wine, beer and spirits under one roof, with unlimited sampling, and that is pitched at food and drink lovers who are seeking out those hard to find gems," event manager, Ross Carter, said.
