Cobra Beer has been awarded a GRAMIA for its new packaging design on its Cobra 5% Premium beer at the Grocery Advertising & Marketing Industry Awards 2008.

This follows the brand's June launch of a stylish and contemporary new design for its bottle labels ahead of a push into pubs and bars.

The GRAMIA ceremony will take place on 2nd October where Cobra will formally pick up the award and will also have a chance of winning a Diamond GRAMIA - the highest accolade - for its packaging.

The new packaging was designed by Landor Associates, Cobra's retained design agency, who had a further three successful product entries at GRAMIA 2008.

Will Ghali, marketing director of Cobra Beer, commented: "It is a great accolade for us to have our new packaging recognised by GRAMIA, particularly in a notoriously tough category. This achievement is a testament to the fantastic work from Landor and Cobra's Creative & Design team in recent months."

Cobra, already one of the UK's fastest-growing beer brands, is aiming to become a top 10 premium lager brand in the next three years. To help achieve this target, Cobra has launched its biggest-ever integrated ‘Now you're talking' campaign as part of a £14 million marketing spend.
