Absolut Vodka has launched a new product playing on its strong links with the lesbian and gay communities.

RainbowVodka
Tying in with the 30-year anniversary of the rainbow flag, the company is launching Absolut Colours, a multicoloured version of the traditional bottle, to mark the occasion.

Absolut Colours will be introduced to the UK in May as a limited edition gift pack.

Linda Phillips, Absolut brand manager at Maxxium UK, said: "Absolut Colours builds on our history as a brand that has always encouraged people to be who they are.

"Almost thirty years ago, when our company decided to do our bit in supporting the rights of the individual, we were considered bold.

"Today we can look back on those days and that decision with pride. For us, Absolut Colours is a natural way to continue to inspire people to let their true colours shine and be proud of who they are."

The limited edition gift pack also contains a cocktail booklet with a foreword from the rainbow flag's creator, Gilbert Baker.

Some 311,000 bottles have been ordered worldwide.
