Havana Club debuts new rum to UK market

Authentic Cuban rum maker Havana Club is pleased to announce the UK launch of its premium rum Havana Club Cuban Barrel Proof into leading style bars and specialist off-trade outlets.

Created by Havana Club Master Distiller Don José Navarro, one of the world's most renowned rum makers, Cuban Barrel Proof is bottled straight from the barrel unlike other rums and is aged for an average of 10 years, resulting in a unique, smoky flavour.

The new rum, which is now available for the first time in the UK, uses ancient rum making techniques to give it a robust character and rich flavour. Don Navarro spent many years working on the blend, which he finishes in specially selected younger oak casks to bring out its unique oak aroma and bouquet.

Havana Club Cuban Barrel Proof has already received accolades from around the world, including a Gold Medal at the San Francisco World Spirit Awards this year (2008), following a successful time in worldwide travel retail outlets.
