A new range of Armagnacs focuses on age and origin in a bid to give the French brandy a premium image. The Single Distillery range, from Janneau, comprises four Armagnacs with different periods of ageing: eight years, 12 years and 25 years, in 50cl contemporary style bottles. The range, which is imported by John E. Fells, is said to have a soft and fruity style. Armagnac - which is often said to have a more mellow, sweeter and rustic style to its neighbour Cognac - has such a small share of the UK spirits market it does not register on Nielsen stats.
