UK supermarkets to list new Marqus de Monistrol wines

UK: Marqués de Monistrol has announced a total of seven new listings with key multiple grocers Tesco, Morrisons and Sainsbury?s.

The brand, currently celebrating its 125th anniversary, has seen sales increases 23% year on year (AC Nielson June 2007).

Due on the shelf in August, Tesco has listed two wines from the portfolio, Vintage Cava Brut 2003 and Vintage Cava Ros 2004, priced at 7.99, the wines are sourced from vineyards located in Sant Sadurn d'Anoia, Peneds.

In addition Morrisons has added four lines from the range. The retailer has listed Marqus de Monistrol Cava Brut NV, Monasteriolo Cava Ros NV and Monasteriolo Cava Semi Seco NV. All three wines are priced at 3.99.

Morrisons will also offer Marqus de Monistrol Premium Reserve Cava Ros 2003 priced at 9.99, the wine is a blend of 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Monastrell and is the only Premium Reserve Ros Cava produced in Spain.

Sainsbury's has also recently added Marqus de Monistrol Clos Vintage Brut 2003 to its sparkling wine offer. The wine aged for 36 months, is a blend of Chardonnay, Macabeo, Xarel-lo and Parellada and has a shelf price of 8.99.
