The Jamaican rum producer Appleton Estate will launch an eight-year-old golden rum product in April.
Appleton Estate eight-year-old is distilled, blended and bottled in Jamaica using a blend of 20 aged rums, which are a minimum of eight years of age.
"Growing interest in golden rums from both the trade and consumers has driven this launch," said J Wray & Nephew marketing manager Mariam Ridley.
"We have had requests for eight-year-old for some time now and felt the time was right to introduce it into the marketplace. Appleton Estate eight-year-old will sit between our flagship brand Appleton Estate V/X and Appleton Estate 12-year-old, offering a true sipping rum with complex flavours and depth."
With an alcoholic strength of 43% and a recommended retail price of £20.99 in the off-trade, Appleton eight-year-old will be available from distributors, J Wray & Nephew from April.
Coconut rum brand, Koko Kanu, which is also distributed by J Wray & Nephew, has unveiled a completely new look with a “dramatic departure” from previous packaging.
Koko Kanu will be available in the off-trade at £14.99 rrp.
