Barworks, the operator behind a host of London's trendiest drinking dens, has opened its fourth 5cc cocktail bar below its Electricity Showrooms venue in Hoxton Square.

5ccBarworks opens its latest 5cc venueBarworks, which runs a slew of trendy bars and diners across London, has opened a fourth cocktail bar 5cc, below its hoxton Electricity Showrooms venue.

The new Electricity Showrooms bar sticks to 5cc's philosophy of cocktails made with fresh produce and homemade ingredients. It is also introducing a new range of barrel cocktails, including Barrel'y Legal with rock candy cordial and rum.

Head bartender Daniel Andersson and group bar manager Charles Montanaro have created a new cocktail menu which includes the Italian Gentleman - a combination of bourbon, rye, Campari and white vermouth finished with a touch of maraschino and served in an absinthe rinsed glass. There is also the Play Dead: rye, yellow chartreuse, Lillet blanc and Fernet Branca. Alongside this will be a selection of bespoke cocktails, such as the Postorder with rosemary honey and Demerara rum, coupled with mint and lime juice and finished with Cremant.

The bar will also have a range of light bites on offer including marinated goat's cheese with chilli, garlic and smoked beechwood mackerel pate, and free range British duck liver parfait.

5cc Electricity Showrooms has taken inspiration from sister bars at the Well & Bucket, Harrild and Sons and Exmouth Arms, in maintaining the site's historic identity. The cocktail bar features plush high leather chairs, snug booths and long copper bar tops, contrasting with the distinctive neon-lit flooring and black sheen walls.

The 5cc concept was founded by Barworks in February 2013 and is now located in four venues across London: The Exmouth Arms in Exmouth Market; The Well & Bucket, Shoreditch; Harrild & Sons on Farringdon Street, and Electricity Showrooms in Hoxton Square.

Barworks was founded in the 1990s with Two Floors in Soho,  by Marc Francis-Baum, Andreas Akerlund and Patrik Franzen. Their venues include those mentioned above, as well as The Slaughtered Lamb, The Wenlock & Essex and seven Diner sites across central London. Barworks are also investors in The Camden Town Brewery.
