Take part here in consultation on independent and supplier relations Print

Harpers Wine & Spirit is continuing with its consultation with independent wine merchants to determine what points of principle they would like to see suppliers follow when serving the independent sector and whether they would like to see a supplier code of practice.

At Harpers inaugural Indies' Supplier debate, held on September 12 at London's Soho Hotel, merchants and suppliers agreed that Harpers, as an independent voice, should consult its database of merchants to see if the appetite exists to create a code of practice.

Questions cover whether suppliers should make their channel strategies public, or give details of where wines are available on request and whether they need to inform retailers when wines change distribution channels.

Please tick agree or disagree next to each of the bullet points and if there are other areas you would like to see discussed, then please add them in the comments field at the end of the questionnaire.

We will compile all the replies we receive from merchants across the country and present the results back to the trade for further discussions on how to take the issue forward.

A separate consultation is also now taking place with suppliers and distributors with the same questions to determine what areas of principle they see as important when serving the independent merchant sector.
