The Wine & Spirit Education Trust has announced an 11% increase in graduates on 2009 for its flagship qualification the Level 4 Diploma in Wines and Spirits.

A total of 400 students completed the qualification in June and will be invited to the Awards and Graduation Ceremony on January 17, 2010 at the Guildhall London.

WSET's Chief Executive, Ian Harris, said "To achieve an 11% increase against the 2009 results is an incredible achievement. This comes on the back of an academic year that witnessed an equally impressive overall growth of 7% in candidates for all levels of WSET qualifications."

Established in 1969, the WSET has grown to become the ultimate provider of qualifications in the field of wines and spirits throughout the globe, since then 7,114 people have passed the WSET Diploma.
