Champagne Pommery dresses up for Christmas
Champagne Pommery has created Gold POP Disco! - a sparkling sequined gift bag release of its Gold POP 2002 - for this year's festive period. Targeted at the premium independent sector, the limited edition glitzy party bag sets will have an RRP of £18.99.
Pommery was the first to market with a vintage Champagne in the 20cl format in 2007. This year's run of the gleaming golden bottles now incorporates the words ‘Grand Cru' on the label, emphasizing the fact that Chef de Cave Thierry Gasco selects grapes for POP 2002 from the same Grand Cru vineyards he uses for the Pommery Grand Cru Brut Millésimé wines.
Vranken-Pommery Monopole UK Manager Sara Hicks comments, "POP's philosophy is about combining fun and innovation in the Champagne category with the high quality expected of a grand marque like Pommery. The POP bottles may be funky and modern, but the same level of winemaking expertise still goes into them and highlighting the Grand Cru status of the Champagne illustrates this to the consumer."
Thierry Gasco makes the Champagne in the mini POP bottles in an Extra Dry style. The slightly higher sugar content gives an easy-drinking wine which is perfect consumed straight from the bottle or through a straw. Pommery was the first House to launch this innovative way of drinking and the portfolio now comprises the original POP in a blue bottle, Pink POP Rosé, Silver POP and the POP-Art collection which currently features the ‘Safari' design of Japanese artist Takahiro Okawa.
Pommery is part of the Vranken-Pommery Monopole group which is distributed by Percy Fox and J&B in the UK. All Trade enquiries for Gold POP Grand Cru 2002 and Gold POP Disco! to: Sara Hicks - firstname.lastname@example.org / 020 7208 2525.
