EVANS LEAVES LIWSF

Published:  23 July, 2008

Andrew Evans, exhibition director of the London International Wine and Spirit Fair (LIWSF) for the last eight years, is leaving show organiser Brintex to join exhibition organiser Fresh RM. Evans will take up the position of managing director at Fresh RM, a Reed & Montgomery exhibitions joint venture, at the end of this year's LIWSF (20-22 May). It's not without sadness that I'm leaving,' said Evans. I've enjoyed my work with the show and the wine trade, but for me, professionally, it's time to move on. However, I'm enormously proud of what we have achieved with the show during my time at Brintex.' LIWSF event manager James Murray will be appointed as exhibition director from June 2003, and will report directly to Brintex managing director Malcolm Taylor. Evans stressed that the handover would be a smooth transition', since Murray has been working alongside Evans, planning the 2003 fair. Since Evans took over the LIWSF, the number of visitors and exhibitors to the fair has doubled, and he successfully oversaw the move of the show from Kensington Olympia to London's Docklands. Last year, Evans was promoted to the role of commercial director at Brintex. Fresh RM runs a number of hospitality-industry trade shows, including Hotelympia and the International Food Exhibition.
