SACKED KWV DUO RE-EMPLOYED

The two former KWV winemakers sacked for adding illegal flavourings to their wines have been re-employed in the South African wine industry. Ian Nieuwoudt and Gideon Theron have found work as winemakers at, respectively, Citrusdal Cellars and Montpellier du Tulbagh. De Witt la Grange, general manager at Citrusdal Cellars, told South African publication Business Report that his winemaker had resigned late last year and he had to find someone before the harvest. Where do you find a winemaker in December?' he asked. He has been given a second chance and I can assure you if he makes himself guilty of something like this again he will not get a third chance.'
