Jerry Lockspeiser on whether peer reviews are the best judge of all

Published:  01 May, 2015

There is no doubt that ratings works.

A book I was thinking of buying has an average 4.7/5 stars from 565 reviewers on Amazon. A restaurant on trip advisor has a straight 5/5 from 490, and a red wine on Laithwaites' site averages 4.4/5 amongst 439. These are not just marketing views invented by the owner's partner and a few friends. These are things a LOT of people like.
