Noble Rot turns importer for new supply arm

Published:  15 September, 2017

Dan Keeling and Mark Andrew, co-founders of Noble Rot magazine and restaurant, have set up a new wine import company Keeling Andrew & Co.

The company will supply the bar and restaurant sector as well as independent wine merchants.

Keeling Andrew & Co. is working directly with star domaines, such as Jean-Marc Roulot in Burgundy and Ulysse Collin in Champagne, as well as up-and-coming producers including Eleni & Edouard Vocoret in Chablis, Champagne Michel Gonet and Bordeaux’s Domaine de Galouchey.

The operator will specialise in mature stocks of fine wines obtained from private cellars across Europe. It will also offer a consultation service for restaurateurs wanting to improve their wine programs.

Keeling said: “Importing wines has been a long time dream of ours, so to launch Keeling Andrew & Co with extraordinary winemakers such as Jean-Marc Roulot and Olivier Collin is incredibly exciting. We only want to work with producers whose wines that we have a passion for drinking, as well as searching out rare mature stocks of wines from the world’s leading estates.”

Andrew said: “We feel privileged to know so many talented winemakers that it seemed like the logical next step for us to help get their wines onto the UK’s most exciting wine lists. It’s a golden time for the British food scene, and we will connect the best vignerons and restaurants.”

The couple launched their Noble Rot restaurant in November 2015, which has won ‘Wine List Of The Year’ at the National Restaurant Awards for the past two years. Keeling is Louis Roederer Food & Wine Writer Of The Year 2017 and Fortnum & Mason Drink Writer Of the Year 2016. Mark Andrew is a Master Of Wine.

Both Andrew and keeling are at number 14 of the Harpers' Hot 100, which celebrates the most influential people in the on-trade.
