The Wine Society launches podcast on Spotify

Published:  28 September, 2026

The Wine Society has launched its Book & Bottle Club as a podcast on Spotify, expanding the author interview series into a new format.

The Club brings together well-known authors who are also Wine Society members, exploring both the stories behind their books and their passion for wine.

It has proved popular with members and with this launch – coinciding with its fifth episode – the consumer cooperative aims to make its series available to a wider audience.

Its latest episode features wine writer Jancis Robinson MW in conversation with The Society’s director of wine, Pierre Mansour, to mark the publication of the ninth edition of The World Atlas of Wine.

The book is particularly significant for Mansour, who himself used the Atlas to build his wine knowledge when he joined the industry straight out of university three decades ago.

Commenting on the shift to Spotify, Steve Finlan, CEO of The Wine Society, explained: “This is a great opportunity for The Society to reach a wider audience. Any new communication channel where members and future members can hear about the great wines we offer and the brilliant stories that accompany them is incredibly valuable.

“Wine is about people, places and experiences, and this podcast gives us another way to share those stories and connect with wine lovers wherever they are.”

The full Book & Bottle Club series is now available on both Spotify and YouTube, with further episodes in production.

The Wine Society is a member-owned cooperative founded in 1874. As Harpers recently reported, it has also been expanding its fine wine service, launching a new Ex-Château programme that sources mature wines directly from producers.

The new service – which draws on the merchant’s longstanding relationships with leading wineries – features a rotating selection of estates and wines, with the first release selling out rapidly after strong demand.
