Amazon turns its hand to US wine sales

Amazon, the online retail giant, is to expand into the US wine market with an enhanced selection of products.

The company told the Financial Times it was currently recruiting for a senior wine buyer whose responsibility would cover "the acquisition of a massive new product selection" for the website.

Amazon's ambitions to expand into the US online wine market compliment the non-perishable grocery business, which it launched two years ago.
