Dragon's firm to set up 23 wine clubs

Published:  22 October, 2010

An online wine supplier bankrolled by Dragon's Den entrepreneur Peter Jones is to develop a range of wine clubs for charities and public sector organisations., run by former Somerfield wine buyer Angela Mount, will set up 23 clubs before Christmas to help raise funds for the RNLI and the Rail Air Forces Association.

The deal with WBC, which trades as Mywineclub, will also see clubs established with the Federation of Small Businesses and the Caravan Club. The 23 clubs will have a reach of 3.2 million members.

Mount said: "We are getting more and more approaches from businesses, affinity partners and major institutions, who want to include recognised and trusted wine names, as part of their reward scheme, or wine club. We are in the perfect position to deliver this.

"As far as charities, such as the RNLI and the RAF Wings Appeal are concerned, a percentage from each sale will go back to the charity, which we are delighted to be able to support."
