Pinnacle Guide: Stoke-on-Trent and Edinburgh bars among fresh awardees

Published:  30 October, 2026

Global cocktail bar recognition system The Pinnacle Guide has unveiled 29 new bars that have been awarded either one or two pins.

Five of the latest cohort hail from British shores including Stoke-on-Trent’s Desire Cocktail Bar (pictured); Edinburgh’s The Caley Bar at The Caledonian; as well as London’s Cato, The Mirror Bar, and Whiteley’s Bar. All were given one pin.

The initiative was launched in May 2024 by Hannah Sharman-Cox, Siobhan Payne and Dan Dove to acknowledge the leading lights of the cocktail world. Since its establishment, 218 ‘Pinned’ cocktail bars have been unveiled.

Among the new batch, five were awarded two pins. This included Rome’s Drink Kong, Providence, USA’s Loma and Sydney’s McRae Bar.

The best represented nations among the 29 latest winners were the US and Italy, both gaining seven new entrants to the Guide, respectively.

Out of all Pinnacle Guide bars, 30% can be found within hotels (such as The Caley Bar in Edinburgh).

The Guide’s founding trio reflected on the “extraordinary hospitality” of the latest additions.

They added: “When we look at this latest group of Pinned bars, what really stands out is the geographical diversity. We have exceptional teams doing brilliant things in major cities, but equally in smaller destinations that don't always receive the same international attention.

“That's a hugely important part of what we set out to achieve. Great hospitality doesn't have to follow a particular formula, and international recognition shouldn't depend on how well-known a bar already is.”
