Wine from Rioja to run its 'Shop Rioja' campaign in October

Wines from Rioja will be running its 'Shop Rioja' campaign again this year for the month of October.

The campaign is dedicated to raising the profile and awareness of the quality and diversity of wines from one of Spain's most well-known regions, Rioja. Those retailers that participate are encouraged to host events, tasting and to run promotions which help to promote wines from the region. It is also an opportunity to educate consumers about the region and help consumers explore the wines from Rioja.

The campaign which is for independent merchants and online retailers is an opportunity to wine £1000 towards new Rioja listings and the chance at being crowned "Rioja retailer of the year."

To participate retailers need to promote five Rioja producers throughout the whole month of October and one of the wines must be a white.  There is no fee to participate.

Participants are then judged on the marketing and point of sale creativity, the in-store or online promotions as well as the uplift in sales of Rioja wines at their locations.

There will be one winner for the smaller merchants category with one to three stores and a winner for larger merchants which have between four and 15 stores.

As part of the campaign Wines from Rioja will provided participants with bespoke point of sale materials and there will be a targeted social media campaign that will include the #RiojaWine.
