Importer Hatch Mansfield has announced that it has appointed Jon Pepper MW as its new CEO. He will step into the role next month with long time CEO Patrick McGrath MW transitioning to the role of chairman at the business.
Pepper joins following six years as CEO of Tenute del Mondo Wine Group, the luxury wine and spirits division of Stoli Group.
Prior to this he worked for five years at Enotria, rising to the role of CEO there too, as well as spending nine years at Buckingham Schenk including four as MD.
The news follows Hatch Mansfield’s announcement earlier this year that it was restructuring its leadership, as reported by Harpers. It was detailed at the time that the roles of MD and CEO would be combined, with then-MD Ben Knollys choosing to step down from the role to pursue new challenges.
Reflecting on the appointment of Pepper, outgoing CEO and Hatch founder McGrath said that the importer “appointed Jon after a thorough search of the market and could not be more thrilled with our decision”.
He added: “Jon understands the importance of the relationships with our producers and customers, and the team and culture that have shaped Hatch Mansfield.
“The board and I are confident that Jon’s extensive experience and strategic expertise, as well as his sense of humour, make him the perfect fit to lead Hatch into a new era.”
Pepper himself is “delighted to be joining Hatch Mansfield” adding that, “the reputation of Hatch, its exceptional portfolio and strong culture precede it".
